Job OverviewThe Electrical Engineer provides electrical engineering support in the design, construction, & maintenance of any & all facilities requirements. Leads and prepares design criteria documents, calculations, drawings and specifications for electrical systems including power distribution, standby power, lighting, communications, fire alarm, security and various other special systems. Manages electrical design process and orchestrates the planning, design, cost estimating, and phased scheduling for projects. Assesses feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering tests/products/equipment.

ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties & Job Functions:
- Responsible for electrical planning and design work for substantial multi-phase new construction, renovation, and improvement projects for a variety of real property facilities.
- Utilizes a professional knowledge of electrical, standard engineering theory and techniques, and Air Force/DOD codes and regulations to perform requirements determinations, technical assistance, and conventional design work.
- Supports electrical projects during construction, including coordinating answers to requests for information, change orders, and solving problems that arise in the field.
- Verifies that programming, design requirements, and funding coordination is complete for each phase of a project.
- Consulting engineer for electrical related design aspects of assigned projects. Provides professional consultations on a broad range of difficult electrical engineering issues and problems, and advice to requesting organizations.
- Assist in determining requirements, assembling requirements document, attending RFP/Design charrettes and the RFP/Design processes.
- Engages Engineering Support personnel for computer aided design and drafting (CADD) and for sketch production using GIS.
- Promotes sustainable design and development principles in professional activities.
- Serves as electrical engineer-of-record for design documents and reports covering electrical systems.
- Supports and participates in the company safety program.
- Other duties as assigned.
Mandatory:
- Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited university.
- Minimum of seven (7) years commercial (non-residential) project experience including at least five (5) years' experience in a project lead role.
- Minimum two years of public/governmental organization experience.
- Completion of WENG 400, 519; WMGT 322, 423; and WTSS 200.
- Must have experience using Microsoft Office applications.
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
- Ability to acquire and maintain government identification/common access card.
- Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
- Valid state Driver's License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
- Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).
