Overview :

Under general supervision, the Slot Technician III performs standard, various, and complex procedures to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain slot and kiosk machines on and off the gaming floor;

applying advanced level skills, in order to ensure optimal operation. Ensures the breakdown, relocation, and set-up of machines and stands are completed according to gaming regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities :

Assists with the orientation, training, assignment, and checking of work of Slot Technician I and IIs.

Coordinates with gaming floor Team Members to identify and repair malfunctioning machines on the gaming floor that require service.

Using advanced skills, knowledge, and abilities, performs the following tasks related to slot and kiosk maintenance, including but not limited to : Replace wire harnesses, circuit boards, logic boards, back planes, hard drives, power supplies, stepper reels, motors, and reel strips.

Replace, calibrate, and test LCD monitors and touch screens.

Upgrade bill acceptor firmware and set options using bill acceptor software.

Install, repair, and replace Sentinel hardware and software.

RAM clear Sentinels, set options, and program slot machines for all manufacturers.

Install, troubleshoot, and repair linked progressive hardware.

Upgrade printer firmware and test using associated software.

Install hardware and software upgrades and theme conversions.

Setup standalone progressives and linked progressive controllers.

Install network switches and cassettes.

Works with machine manufacturers and distributors to obtain technical support, and to replace or repair machines and components that cannot be serviced in-house.

Completes applicable paperwork, logs, and reports accurately and in a timely manner.

Adheres to and complies with established rules, regulations, policies, and procedures regarding slot technical responsibilities.

Verifies over the limit jackpots with the Santa Ynez Tribal Gaming Agency.

Qualifications :

High School Diploma or GED Certificate.

Associate’s Degree in Technology or equivalent work experience.

Three years of prior experience as a Slot Technician.

Prior experience in the gaming industry is preferred.

Successful completion / passing of departmental skill assessment and testing required for Slot Technician III level.

Experience with power supplies and UPS systems.

Advanced knowledge and experience in the function, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of electronic devices.

Advanced electrical and mechanical skills.

Advanced level knowledge and understanding of electronic and mechanical schematics highly desirable.

Basic computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, e-mail, and internet.

Willingness to work flexible schedules in a 24 / 7 work environment, including holidays, nights, and weekends.

Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.

Native American hiring preference applies.
