JOB SUMMARY:
The Driver is responsible for making deliveries and driving various delivery vehicles, including but not limited to, box trucks and cargo vans.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
• Makes deliveries while providing a high level of customer service
• Completes all required vehicle inspections, driver logs and other paperwork as required
• Proactively communicates vehicle maintenance needs and all issues related to products and orders to DC leadership
• Shipment preparation - palletize, wrap, and band shipments as directed
• Ensures timely and accurate processing of order fulfillment – direct to consumer/wholesale distributors/stock transfers
• Follows and adheres to order fulfillment and scanning guidelines, maintaining focus and accountability on the movement of inventory through a handheld scanner
• Loads delivery vehicles and prepares route paperwork
• Ability to operate stand-up forklifts, sit-down forklifts, order selectors, and pallet jack
• Assists in meeting established KPI metrics as they apply
• Ensures all organizational safety rules and guidelines are followed
• Maintains a clean, safe work environment for all drivers and warehouse associates by practicing CAYGO (clean as you go)
• Performs other duties, as assigned
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently is required. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
• Clean driving record is required and a valid state-issued Class C Driver’s License
• Prior warehouse/driving/delivery experience preferred
• HS/GED or 2 years of WH/driving experience preferred
• Ability to stoop, bend and lift 50lbs
• Ability to work well under pressure in a team environment and effectively communicate with team members
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Working conditions are that of a standard distribution center and delivery vehicle; employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions and high noise levels. Confined to a closed vehicle on a daily basis.
