Cimarron is Hiring a Controls Engineer Near Huntington, CA
Cimarron is seeking a Controls Engineer to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on an Electro-Optical (EO) / Infra-Red (IR) Mission Systems team in Huntington Beach, CA. The selected candidate for this position will support the development of space and airborne payloads for optical sensing systems.
This is an onsite position.
Key Duties
- Develop and implement control algorithms for spacecraft guidance, navigation, and control systems to ensure precision maneuvering and operation in space environments.
- Design, simulate, and test control systems for spacecraft propulsion, attitude control, and orbital trajectory optimization.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate control systems with other spacecraft subsystems, such as propulsion, power, and communication systems.
- Conduct analysis and troubleshooting of control system performance using simulation tools, telemetry data, and ground-based testing facilities.
- Contribute to the development of advanced control technologies and methodologies to improve spacecraft autonomy, reliability, and mission success.
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance (or higher).
- 5 or more years of related experience.
- Experience with PID (Proportional–integral–derivative controller).
- Experience with Simulink, including how to transfer code from Simulink to C .
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry from an accredited course of study.
- Active Secret clearance or higher.
- 10 or more years of related experience.
