Cincinnati Children's Hospital is Hiring an Epic Manager - IS (Cadence/MyChart) Near Cincinnati, OH

Description:
Expected Starting Salary Range: 52.66 - 67.30
SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION:
As an EPIC Manager, the role entails guiding and mentoring the Enterprise Application team to excel in exceeding customer expectations and achieving objectives. Utilize performance development strategies to empower professional growth while managing projects using expertise in project management principles and tools such as ServiceNow PPM, and Excel. Evaluate system solutions, staying current on developments to maintain relevance. Provide input into departmental strategy and planning, represent the team in discussions regarding upgrades and enhancements, and assist in evaluating new project requests while prioritizing projects within the portfolio. Additionally, work with IS and Institutional Leadership in developing Epic modules (Cadence, MyChart, and Referrals) roadmaps, coordinate with other managers, and lead staff allocation and demand management.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
People Planning:
  • Provide work direction to staff aligned with the tactical and strategic objectives of the department.
  • Elevate team members' understanding and thinking by infusing best practice knowledge into their work.
  • Manage the selection, development, and coaching of team members.
  • Ensure clarity regarding job requirements and goals for each position and effectively communicate Medical Center initiatives, priorities, standards, and policies to employees.
Team Leadership:
  • Provide leadership to team members in the completion of technology initiatives, projects, or programs.
  • Collaborate with appropriate teams or individuals to plan, implement, and evaluate services.
Systems Management:
  • Oversee the design, develop, implement, and maintain systems and technology aligned with organizational needs.
  • Recommend technology and solutions that meet workforce and patient care needs, are cost-effective, and consistent with best practices.
  • Recommend the development and maintenance of policies and practices to support processes.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver effective communications and training to users.
Financial Management:
  • Support the fiscal responsibilities of the department as needed.
  • Collaborate with management in monitoring budget expenditures and investigate variances or issues.
  • Aid in tracking and overseeing expenses and allocations.
  • Generate relevant reports as required.
  • Conduct research for significant purchases.
  • Potentially contribute to the annual budget preparation process.
Resource Management:
  • Provide leadership for the completion of defined projects, ensuring consistency with determined strategy, commitments, and goals.
  • Develop project plans, resource allocation, and timeline.
  • Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
  • May direct assigned project team ensuring effective utilization of resources.
  • Stay current on upcoming development within supported applications/technologies and strategize on a roadmap to maintain currency.
  • Provide input on departmental strategy and planning with a focus on areas of functional responsibility.
  • Represent the team in departmental discussions regarding the selection/implementation of selected upgrades, enhancements, or other solution products.
Qualifications:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 5 years of work experience in a related job discipline
Preferred:
  • Epic Certification
  • Previous experience managing a team.
  • Project Management experience
