Learn the daily routines of healthcare/research investigators, Foster career interests in healthcare/research. Gain experience and awareness of the academic, technical and personal skills required in healthcare/research professions. Gain an understanding of different health/research careers, including the cultures and work environments that can be unique to a particular healthcare/research profession. Develop an understanding of the critical connections between education, work and goal attainment. Comply with policies and procedures protecting patient rights for informed consent and the handling of confidential information as defined by Cincinnati Children's mission and applicable laws and regulations. Complete Cincinnati Children's training required for the position. Adhere to safe work practices. Understand, adhere to and model Core Standards as defined organizationally and specifically within the department / unit. Role Responsibilities
Observe healthcare workers, who are providing patient care, on their appropriate compliance with Cincinnati Children’s infection control policies and procedures using standardized audit tools.
Collect data on compliance and enter data into data entry systems. Assist with the preparation of compliance reports as needed with oversight.
Coach when necessary and provide “just in time” education to healthcare team members as needed.
Maintain accurate records of observations.
Education/ExperienceRequired:
Must be currently enrolled in a degree granting college program
Data entry skills (e.g. MS Excel, virtual data entry APPs) Superior communication skills PreferredExperience working in healthcare Unique Skills
Communication - Intermediate
Good verbal, written and/or interpersonal communication skills
Service Orientation
Demonstrating concern for customer needs and issues; patiently tolerating rudeness and anger and responding with tact and empathy; showing persistent enthusiasm during customer interactions
Computer Proficiency - Basic
Working knowledge of basic computer applications
Physical Stamina
