ROLE SUMMARY:
Cincinnati Public Schools is seeking a Communications Specialist to join its Office of Marketing and Communications. The Communications Specialist will support the development and distribution of communication materials and marketing assets designed to reach multiple audiences including: employees, students, parents/guardians, families and the general community.

The Communications Specialist will serve as a content writer and producer for print, digital and social media platforms. In addition, the Communications Specialist will support event planning, promotion, presentation development, logistics and execution. Capturing and editing images, general use of photography and video equipment will be required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing or related field from an accredited college and/or 3-5 years of experience.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
  • Plan, produce and publish printed and digital materials.
  • Proofread and edit documents and presentations to fit AP style.
  • Generate and approve copy for web and other CPS social platforms.
  • Maintaining a consistent voice throughout all of CPS content.
  • Unparalleled writing, creativity and comprehension are a must.
  • Ability to tell relatable and inspirational stories.
  • Experience with event planning and execution.
  • Deep understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Sense of humor, ability to see the big picture, a passion for sharing knowledge and being creative.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with multiple stakeholders within and outside the organization.
  • Preferably bilingual - English/Spanish or French
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to triage priorities.
  • Use of Adobe Creative Suite tools a plus - Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere

CONTRACT PROVISIONS TYPE OF CONTRACT: 260 - day limited
SALARY RANGE: Specialist - Per CAAS Agreement
