Cooperative Education/Internship Coordinator – Part-time (Humanities and Sciences Division)Employer: Cincinnati State Technical and Community CollegeLocation: Cincinnati, OhioPosition Type: Part-Time (up to 25 hours per week)Job Summary: Cincinnati State Community and Technical College is seeking a motivated and organized Part-Time Internship and Career Coordinator. This individual will work up to 25 hours per week supporting transfer degree students in securing cooperative education jobs, internships, and special projects, such as job shadowing and service projects.
Key Responsibilities:Internship and Cooperative Education Coordination:
  • Advise students on internship and job opportunities, helping them secure positions that align with their academic and career goals.
  • Identify and engage employers to solicit their involvement in our internship program.
  • Develop and maintain resources for internship opportunities, including a database and informational handouts.
  • Create and manage a system to advertise urgent internship opportunities.
  • Coordinate with the registrar's office to ensure student internships are noted on their transcripts.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the internship program.
Workshops and Advising:
  • Conduct workshops on diverse topics related to career development, such as resume building, cover letter writing, and job search strategies.
  • Offer one-on-one advising sessions to assist students with career planning and job application processes.
  • Review and provide feedback on student resumes and cover letters.
Database Management and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of student internships and career services interactions.
  • Supervise student workers who assist with data entry and other administrative tasks.
  • Generate reports on student engagement and internship outcomes as needed.
Collaboration and Outreach:
  • Work closely with other departments, including marketing and student services, to promote career opportunities and resources.
  • Develop promotional materials and strategies to increase student participation in internship programs.
  • Coordinate and participate in career events, such as job fairs and service-learning fairs.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience in career services, job-development, academic advising, or a related area.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in student affairs, human resources, marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching at the college level.
  • Willingness to teach one section of HUM 190 (a two-credit hour course)
  • Familiarity with career services software and database management.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
