We are currently assisting our client, an industry leader, with an Operations Manager search located near Springfield, MA . Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Operations Manager will oversee the establishment of a safety-centric work culture, alongside meeting production and quality targets. They should demonstrate leadership through their actions on the floor and actively promote ongoing enhancements within a compact manufacturing setup.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all production related activities throughout the facility in all production departments
• Promote a safe work environment by actively engaging in safety improvement projects
• Provide leadership on major issues facing the organization, working collectively with support managers, and understanding all aspects of the business
• Proactively lead continuous improvement initiatives
• Interact with internal cross-business teams to maintain and meet organizational goals and objectives; including but not limited to: engineering, quality, maintenance, production control, HR, finance and safety
• Achieve cost, quality, delivery, and safety goals, and identify continuous improvement opportunities using six sigma and lean methodologies
• Support deployment of manufacturing operations strategy, control systems, tools and metrics to accurately measure progress, identify root causes of processes, production capacity, quality and staffing issues and develop/implement corrective action plans
• Responsible for the accomplishment of product line’s operations goals and initiatives within their area

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 3 years supervisory experience in manufacturing
• Hands on knowledge of manufacturing processes
