Title: Accounts Receivable Specialist Clerk
Manager: Director of Finance
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Pay Rate: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Overview:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist Clerk is responsible for collecting, recording and processing customer payments. Timely reporting of aging accounts and associated customer follow-up is an integral component of this position.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
· Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
· Creates invoices according to company practices; submits invoices to customers.
· Maintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions.
· Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and directly contacts all delinquent accountholders to request payment.
· Creates reports regarding the current status of customer accounts as requested.
· Researches customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of the Sr. Accountant and Finance staff.
· Collaborates with Sr. Accountant to reconcile accounts receivable on a weekly basis.
· Assists Sr. Accounting Manager in reconciling revenue accounts each month.
· Copies, files, and retrieves materials for accounts receivable as needed.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· General knowledge of accounting principles
· Experience working with accounting software
· Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
· Attention to detail is critical to this position
· Excellent work ethic and ability to multitask.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment.
· High stress tolerance, adaptable, ability to work in an ever-changing environment, flexible
· Ability to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
· At least two years of related experience required.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
Manufacturing facility and office environment.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Work may at times involve daily exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures (hot and cold), humidity, darkness, and noise.
Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks, such as working around mechanical, chemical, and electrical hazards.
Ability to wear PPE (personal protective equipment) such as hair net, earplugs, beard net (if applicable), protective gloves, safety harness, safety glasses and slip resistant work shoes/boots. Personal protective equipment, as defined by Cirona Labs, will be provided.
Position requires the ability to stand; sit at a desk; walk around office and facility; lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity; and reaching, kneeling, crawling, and twisting. Also requires the ability to see, hear; and communicate by utilizing professional etiquette with all levels of associates and with external vendors.
