Full-Time Position
We are looking for a Communications Manager to lead the PR, communications and social media for 'Auana, our new production in Hawai'i, part of the Resident Shows Division ("RSD") with Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group ("CDSEG"). The main objective of this role is to promote 'Auana to local, regional and international markets through PR and social media strategy in collaboration with sales and marketing teams. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, knowledge of the Hawaii market and social media expertise.
The Communications Manager will have the opportunity to:
•In collaboration with the Director of Communications and VP Sales, Marketing and PR, develop PR and social media strategies for 'Auana.
•Prioritize and build strong relationships with Outrigger Hotel Group (OHG) counterparts, including active, ongoing participation in meetings and ensuring content and programs are reviewed and approved by OHG as required, ensuring compliance with all terms of the CDS-OHG partnership agreement.
•Monitor the effectiveness of PR and social media efforts while proactively recommending new initiatives to achieve 'Auana'sKPIs.
•In collaboration with RSD and International Headquarters PR teams, oversee online reputation management. Share weekly review reports with show team. Ensure online reviews are responded to in a timelymanner.
•Establish relationships with local non-profit organizations aligned with Cirque and 'Auana's social responsibility initiatives for donations and appearances and in collaboration with OHG's efforts; respond to incoming donation requests
•Partner with OHG to influence the development of any plans they create, and understand the effectiveness of those plans, and making recommendations for revisions as necessary.
•Lead the in-market execution in Hawaii of all approved PR and social plans for 'Auana to include content development and distribution (photo and video shoots), media pitching and hosting, creation and dissemination of press releases and press kits, influencer programs, blogs, current social channel management, social channel expansion, social posts and responses.
•Collaborate with external agency for Japanese PR, media pitching and hosting, translations of all press materials, influencer programs, and more.
•Coordinate and staff media and PR events on and off site, communicating with partners,media and producers as well as 'Auana show team and artists, ensuring show operation resources are available where needed and appropriate to execute. Facilitate media training for spokespeople.
•Continually deliver on expectations of partners, senior management, internal departments and OHG through clear, concise communication. Highlight successes, sharing results.
•Implement partnerships with key brands that align with Cirque du Soleil shows and Outrigger Hotel Group to cross promote and expand the brand awareness to identify audiences. Ensure necessary OHG approvals are obtained prior to any commitments to ensure mutual alignment around selection, activities and outcomes.
•Act as company spokesperson; represent Cirque du Soleil and 'Auana at public events and business gatherings. Seek input from internal Cirque du Soleil Resident Show Division (RSD) and International Headquarters (IHQ) colleagues to maximize synergies, share best practices, develop efficient processes and workflow, and achieve optimal use of time and capacity.
•Working with the show's Marketing and Sales Managers, develop strategies to capitalize on opportunities and achieve revenue, occupancy, average ticket price goals and other KPIs.
•In collaboration with the Marketing Manager, support direct marketing initiatives.
•Provide the Marketing Manager with regular updates on ongoing activities in the market.
•Serve as the Marketing Department contact on site for marketing, social media, corporate alliances and promotional initiatives and activities.
•Manage crisis communications with all necessary parties under the direction of the Director of Communications.
•Build and nurture relationships with Hawaii community partners to support the goal of achieving maximum exposure for 'Auana.
•Oversee external agencies and vendors as applicable.
•Complete other duties as assigned.
What does it take for this role? The following hard skills are the basics of what's needed to be successful in this position:
•A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field;
•At least six years of previous experience in Entertainment Marketing, advertising or agency experience;
•Experiential Marketing knowledge or experience;
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.);
•Analytical skills a must;
•Ability to create and maintain solid business relationships, both internally and externally, to promote and encourage a positive and productive work environment;
•Working knowledge of social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tiktok and LinkedIn, etc.;
•Previous experience updating/managingSocial Mediacalendars;
•Excellent negotiation and presentation skills;
•Great organizational skills and the ability to multi-task;
•Ability to handle ambiguity andwork under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor;
•Excellent written and oral communication skills;
•Previous experience in driving ticket sales and revenue is preferred;
•Availability to work nights and weekendsand travel as required;
•Ability to perform the essential functions of the job including, but not limited to: crouching, kneeling, standing, lifting, sometimes for extended amounts of time; lifting at least 50lbs unassisted, etc.; Full list of essential functions will be sent in the offer. •Fluent in English, both written and spoken;
