Job Title: Director of Student Activities
Job Summary:
The Director of Student Activities is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising a program of student activities to include social, educational, and recreational activities in support of student development as well as the mission and philosophy of Cisco College. Students enrolled in distance learning opportunities are invited to take advantage of on campus activities and services.
The Director of Student Activities will be expected to accomplish assigned duties in an efficient, effective and competent manner, and to strive for improvement and excellence in all work performed. Additionally, CC employees are asked to demonstrate a commitment to the comprehensive role of the community college as stated in the College Mission, and to cooperate and work harmoniously with College personnel and the public. All CC employees are expected to follow College policies, rules, regulations, and guidelines.
Primary Duties:
1. Organize and supervise the Student Government Association (SGA) or a Student Activities Committee.
2. Plan, schedule, organize, implement and supervise a comprehensive student activities program for the academic year to include social, educational, and recreational programs for the Cisco Campus student body. Programming should begin early each semester with the arrival of students into the residence halls.
3. Work in cooperation with Student Services and other campus functions by assisting with such tasks as Registration, Welcome Week, Homecoming, Ranch Day, and other special events.
4. Serve as a campus focal point to assist in positively promoting Cisco College to prospective students and other persons visiting the campus.
5. Function as liaison between the student body and its concerns, and the administration, staff, faculty, and the community.
6. Serve on various campus committees as assigned.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Experience developing, organizing, and implementing programs or projects.
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
3. Ability to work collaboratively with others.
4. Experience planning and facilitating activities.
5. Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
For candidates who do not meet the minimum qualifications, a combination of education and experience providing comparable knowledge and abilities will be considered
