What You'll Do

Cisco is seeking an Executive Administrative Professional to provide support to the Vice Presidents and Senior Leadership team in Campus Connectivity which includes Cisco Switching, Catalyst Center and ISE.


Responsibilities include:

In addition to general administrative duties of an Executive Assistant, daily tasks are carried out at a higher level of complexity. Specifically, the critical behaviors of this role are:

  • Calendar Management: Manages VP's calendar by prioritizing schedules and meetings. Diplomatically resolve calendar conflicts, operationally ensure calendar logistics (e.g. attendees/declines/roll-call, webex, objectives, agenda, pre-reads, note taking/action items)
  • Event Speaking Engagement Coordination: Manages a running list of VP’s engagements and works closely with communications team to ensure content needs are understood and set in motion so VP is prepared for each engagement.
  • Meeting Planning and organizations: Assists VP in planning and organizing meetings by taking responsibility for assembling the agenda, location, meeting technology based upon participant needs, and all other meeting logistics. May further prepare meeting briefing documents by taking and disseminating notes and formulating post meeting action item list.
  • Travel Briefing Preparation: Build travel packs for international trips as well as large domestic events such as Cisco Live, etc. This work includes combining all event information in addition to coordinated logistics of travel and customer/team asks.
  • Correspondence/Approvals: Supports VP by acting as proxy for communications and approvals as authorized. Answers general questions as necessary and refers (filters) routine matters to appropriate parties and follows up to ensure proper disposition.
  • Travel: Responsible for making travel arrangements for VP. Carefully considers and decides the optimum travel arrangements and itinerary for calendared meetings while managing Cisco expenses. Must demonstrate attention to detail when building, confirming and adapting travel plans as needed (e.g. visa and passport requirements, travel preferences, transit logistics, etc.)
  • Expense management: Prepare travel expense reports in timely fashion, managing monthly miscellaneous expense reports, maintain team travel policy and approvals, review and approval of team travel expense report, ensuring conformance to Cisco Travel and Expense Policy, etc.
  • Support team operations, specifically working with chief of staff to operationalize key practices: all hands, quarterly awards, recognition, executive social profile, etc.
  • Special Projects: Provides analytical support to assist executive on special projects. Research issues, analyze problems, compile data, and prepare reports. Large Corporate Events: Prepare and brief itinerary as well as accompany VP for large Corporate Events such as GSX, where EA's are used for executive support.
  • Confidentiality: Candidate will deal professionally with sensitive and confidential matters and materials.

You’ll be working with the Chief of Staff team, Product Managers and Technical Marketing experts supporting the largest single business within Cisco.

Our minimum requirements for this role:
  • 4 years experience in administrative environment and 2 years supporting Director or above
  • Outstanding track record of performance.
  • Experience in planning meetings and coordinating travel.
  • Expert level knowledge of Windows desktop computer applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Associate degree preferred

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
