Citadel Healthcare is Hiring a Restorative Care Aide Near Chicago, IL
The primary purpose of the Restorative Care Aide is to perform restorative procedures that maximize the resident’s existing abilities, emphasize independence instead of dependence and minimize the negative effects of disability within the attitude of realistic optimism.

Restorative Care Aide Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Rehab Aide is responsible for maintenance of Rehab/Restorative supplies and equipment
- The Rehab Aide cares for and applies or supervises the application of orthoses, (braces), prostheses and any other appliance or assistive device
- The Rehab Aide provides hand on support to implement the specific individually designed Rehabilitation Program
- The Rehab Aide documents daily participation and completes monthly progress notes as needed.
- Demonstrates proper infection control techniques when administering care to prevent spread of infection and diseases
- Demonstrates knowledge of resident safety and abuse prevention programs
- Recognize and reports any changes in resident condition (physical mental emotional, social) to the charge nurse
- Fosters self-respect and esteem by recognizing, accepting and respecting the residents entrusted to his/her care
- Answers call light promptly
- Attends In services and staff meetings. Contributes to Care Plan Conferences and Stand-Up Meetings
- Monitors Walk and Dine program and other functional rehab/restorative programs
- Responsible for implementing the facility’s Culture Contract components through their interaction and implementation of their role with residents, families and staff
- Other duties as assigned
- Certified by the State as a Nurse Assistant (Federal and State Law Requirements)
- On the State Nurse Aide Registry with proper credentials and a clear record
- Current CPR Certification
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Occupational Rehab and Physical Rehab certified preferred
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
- Must be able to propel a resident in a wheelchair
- Must be able to push, pull move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
