A Maintenance Supervisor at CITGO Petroleum Corporation’s Lake Charles Manufacturing Complex is responsible for maintaining refinery property, equipment and/or assets by ensuring safe and efficient operations coordinating resources and utilizing refinery maintenance work orders. This includes scheduling, monitoring, and overseeing internal and external repairs, area personnel and utilization of rental equipment, tools, and vehicles. The Maintenance Supervisor is also responsible for ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, auditing for safety personal protective equipment (PPE), permit writing, lock out tag out (LOTO), and housekeeping. Supervisors control and monitor the preventive maintenance (PVM) and mechanical integrity of work orders in the area of responsibility. Each supervisor is responsible for tracking contractor headcount, inputting time, and holding safety huddle (weekly and monthly).
Job Responsibilities
  • Assign daily job tasks and supervise execution of these tasks for hourly CITGO and contract personnel. Manage maintenance backlog in SAP by dispatching job operations, TECO completed work orders, and final confirming operations. Ensure materials and equipment needed by the craftsmen are available to perform the required task for daily and weekly activities. Verify tools, equipment, and transportation is available for daily maintenance activities.
  • Perform daily problem solving activities on maintenance tasks. This includes direct technical support and coordinating support from groups outside the maintenance department such as reliability, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process support.
  • Ensure CITGO and contract personnel are aware and follow CITGO safety procedures. Write incident reports for maintenance related incidents in assigned areas of responsibility. Perform incident investigations as required.
  • Plan and execute maintenance work for management of change (MOC) projects
  • Schedule daily and weekly work through SAP. Conduct daily meetings with operations personnel to review scheduled work to ensure correct priorities are maintained. Track weekly schedule compliance. Plan jobs to support area maintenance planning effort when required. This includes job scope development, field review along with developing list of required resources, equipment, and estimated duration.
  • Check work orders for accurate charges of time and materials. Verify actual cost for work performed.
  • Track hourly employees by number of hours worked and by the correct work order to ensure proper distribution of charges to operational cost centers
  • Bachelor's degree with one (1) year of related technical experience, or
  • Associate degree with three (3) years of related technical experience, or
  • Graduate of apprentice or vocational technical school with three (3) years of related experience, or
  • High school diploma or equivalent with five (5) years of related experience
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in SAP
  • Valid driver’s license
  • CITGO hourly employees must be qualified as a temporary supervisor per the Supervisor Development Process (OSDP, MSDP, or LSDP) and meet the minimum qualifications listed above.
