Citizen Alliance Agency is Hiring an Insurance Agent Near Sacred Heart, MN

Position Summary:

The Insurance Agent position is responsible for identifying sales opportunities for insurance plans and overseeing a portfolio of clients. This position will be required to identify risk management strategies, handle new and renewed policies, track claims, sell life, property, casualty, health, automotive, Farm/crop or other types of insurance with minimal direction and supervision.

The Insurance Agent must exhibit the ability to independently exercise responsibility regarding planning work, establishing priorities, and maintaining appropriate documentation and records on insurance customers. This position will be expected to develop and maintain a knowledge of insurance regulatory compliance matters.

This position will also be responsible for managing all existing insurance customers, develop new business in accordance with the Bank’s established policies and procedures. The Insurance Agent will have extensive customer contact and will work closely with bank personnel to cross-sell products and services.

The level of this position is based on years of service, education and/or equivalent experience, knowledge level and skill set.

Essential Functions:

  • Attend meetings, seminars and programs to learn about new products and services, learn new skills, and receive technical assistance in developing new accounts.
  • Calculate premiums and establish payment method.
  • Call on policyholders to deliver and explain policy, to analyze insurance program and suggest additions or changes, or to change beneficiaries.
  • Confer with clients to obtain and provide information when claims are made on a policy.
  • Contact underwriter and submit forms to obtain binder coverage.
  • Customize insurance programs to suit individual customers, often covering a variety of risks.
  • Develop marketing strategies to prospect and compete with other individuals or companies who sell insurance.
  • Ensure that policy requirements are fulfilled, including any necessary medical examinations and the completion of appropriate forms.
  • Explain features, advantages and disadvantages of various policies to promote sale of insurance plans.
  • Explain necessary bookkeeping requirements for customer to implement and provide group insurance program.
  • Inspect property, examining its general condition, type of construction, age, and other characteristics, to decide if it is a good insurance risk.
  • Interview prospective clients to obtain data about their financial resources and needs, the physical condition of the person or property to be insured, and to discuss any existing coverage.
  • Monitor insurance claims to ensure they are settled equitably for both the client and the insurer.
  • Oversee and/or perform administrative tasks, such as maintaining records and handling policy renewals.
  • Plan and/or oversee incorporation of insurance program into bookkeeping system of company.
  • Seek out new clients and prospects; develop clientele by networking with centers of influence to find new customers and generate lists of prospective clients.
  • Select company that offers type of coverage requested by client to underwrite policy.
  • Sell various types of insurance policies to businesses and individuals on behalf of insurance companies, including automobile, fire, life, property, medical and dental insurance or specialized policies such as marine, farm/crop, and medical malpractice.
  • Ability to prioritize workload.
  • Assist co-workers as needed.

  • Travel for trade and industry schools and seminars as needed.
  • This position may require installation of a Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) app on an employee’s personal mobile device. THE MFA apps are used to authenticate a user’s identity to the system for security purposes.
  • Adhere to and comply with all applicable, federal, and state laws, regulations, and guidance, including those related to BSA/AML, as well as adhere to the Bank’s policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and requested.

Education and Experience:

Required - High School diploma or GED, etc.

Required - Continuing Education to maintain job knowledge.

Required – Three to Five years of experience as an Insurance Agent
