Job Title: Residential Real Estate Loan Officer Department: Lending Job SummaryThe purpose of this job is to originate secondary market mortgage loans via realtor, builder and other referral sources. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Demonstrated professionalism and success in prospecting, generating leads, closing business and consistently meeting/exceeding production goals
Network of referral business including Real Estate professionals and other centers of influence
Strong knowledge of mortgage products in order to provide the highest level of service to our clients; educate and inform borrowers throughout the mortgage process
Highly motivated with strong work ethic
Strong interpersonal skills
Detail oriented with good organizational skills and ability to create and maintain long-term relationships with current and potential customers
Ability to operate a computer and utilize Microsoft Office products efficiently.
Excellent knowledge of industry standard underwriting system (ex. FNMA DU)
Essential Job Functions
Proactively solicit and sell residential mortgage products to meet established loan quality and production goals.
Develop and maintain successful relationships with business referral sources, and existing and prospective clients via calls to potential or existing customers to develop new business or retain existing business; the preparation of presentations at branches, at real estate office sales meetings, homebuyer’s seminars or any other venue to solicit first mortgage business.
Transact business in conformance with state and federal regulations such as, but not limited to, RESPA, HMDA, and Fair Lending Practices. Consistently works in accordance to published department sales and services standards.
Meet with customers as necessary during various stages of the loan process.
Provide quality and complete loan applications to vendor partners.
Ensure exceptional customer service by overseeing loan process from origination to close and provide on-going communication to customers and business partners.
Achieve established production goals.
Monitors status of loans in the pipeline to ensure loans are closed timely.
Resolve customer issues or concerns to promote efficient loan closings.
Identifies opportunities to refer customers and/or potential customers to other units of the bank to provide services that meet their needs.
Actively participate in community relations efforts to contribute to the mission and visibility of the bank.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Equipment OperatedPersonal computer skills, calculator, fax, copier, telephone, computer printer, and the following software: Laser Pro, Decision Pro, MortgageBOT, Jack Henry core banking system, Microsoft Office suite, Bank Manager, etc. Work EnvironmentWork is performed primarily at a desk with regular contact with employees and customers, in person and on the phone. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Physical DemandsThe employee is required to stand for most of the shift and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Three years or more of residential mortgage lending experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of professional experience and/or education.
Equivalent experience with mortgage products, policies, and industry standards
Must have Mortgage Origination Officer License from NMLS
