Citizens National Bank has an excellent opportunity available in our Bluffton market for an Internal Controller. In this role you will establish, coordinate, and maintain an accounting system that properly reflects the financial position of the financial institution, and provide financial consolidation of branches.

A typical day may include the following:

• Reviewing general ledger reports daily, ensuring balances, postings, and net changes are reasonable. Addresses discrepancies or issues with the CFO.
• Monitors all accounts payable for accuracy of general ledger and ensures timely payment. Reviews payable for prior-month expense accruals and adjusts as necessary.
• Provides month-end closing adjustments, posting and reconciling entries, obtains post- month-end closing and backdates if appropriate.
• Gathers relative financial data and assists in the timely preparation of periodic regulatory reports for Bank and Bancshares such as Call Report, FR Y-9SP, FR Y-8 and similar reports, as submitted to Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Federal Reserve Bank and other applicable departments and agencies.
• Assists with the development and implementation of the Bank's fiscal plans and policies.
• Assists CFO with various projects as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree, MBA preferred. Minimum 3 or more years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA preferred, but not required. Continuing education to remain current with area of responsibility.

• Must have stellar written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of professionalism
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Proficiency in computer software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
