Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or personnel
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary payments
- Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of medical information
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy and confidentiality
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Handle inquiries and provide information about the dental office services
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in health care setting
- Proficient in using dental office software
- Knowledge of medical records management and HIPAA regulations
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Familiarity with phone systems and ability to handle high call volumes
