What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The hourly range for this position is $22.76 - $34.14/hour. Our starting hourly range is $23.00 - $30.00/hour, based on experience and education. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location
The City and County of Denver utilizes a hybrid model workplace that balances the responsibilities of public service with the benefits of a flexible work environment. Employees work where needed, at a city site and/or in the field several days a week and telecommute at a designated workplace within the State of Colorado the remaining days.
In this position you can expect to work on site at least three days a week at the Republic Plaza at 370 17th Street, Denver, CO 80202, up to five days a week in the field working with the public.
What You’ll Do
At the Department of Housing Stability, we are committed to support Denver residents as healthy, housed and connected. We invest resources, create policy, and partner with various organizations to help keep residents in the homes that they already live in, quickly resolve an experience of homelessness, and connect residents to new housing opportunities. To support these efforts, the department helps to:
  • Stabilize residents at risk of involuntary displacement and connect residents to housing resources such as home repairs, rent and utility assistance, and legal support.
  • Support residents experiencing a crisis and connect them to housing, shelter and other services to get stabilized quickly.
  • Create and preserve existing affordable housing and connect residents at any income level to new housing opportunities through programs such as down-payment assistance or counseling services.
  • Support financial services, contracting and procurement, data analysis and strategic planning, administrative resources, and communications across the housing continuum.
The All In Mile High Division at HOST exists to lead the City and County of Denver’s efforts to end unsheltered homelessness by connecting our unsheltered neighbors to transitional and permanent housing outcomes. Our primary lanes of work include street outreach efforts, Non-congregate shelter and micro-community programs, and permanent housing programs targeted towards those exiting unsheltered homelessness.
Specifically, as the Outreach Coordinator you will:
  • Visit encampments, build relationships, and connect Spanish speakers, especially Newcomers to available indoor services.
  • Direct outreach efforts to specific locations when directed by HOST or Mayor’s Office leadership.
  • Partner with Newcomer service organizations and Denver’s Asylum Seekers Program to understand the needs and services available to Newcomers in our city.
  • Work on a team with relevant City and County of Denver and subcontractor street outreach teams.
  • Perform timely data entry into the Homelessness Management Information System to build a case-load and track all outreach interactions.
  • Work outside in inclement weather to ensure the safety of our unsheltered neighbors and help connect them to indoor service options.
  • Attend and actively participate in departmental, divisional, and team meetings on a regular and ongoing basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bilingual Spanish speaker. Strong cultural understanding of diverse culture with newcomer and migrant populations.
  • Experience working with newcomers or migrant populations.
  • Demonstrated experience performing street outreach to individuals living outdoors.
  • Experience conducting timely data entry.
  • Microsoft Office and Teams proficiency.
Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
  • Experience Requirement: Four (4) years of experience performing intake including assessing and identifying client strengths and needs and providing referrals for assistance.
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement.
