LocationThe Denver International Airport supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed; Details will be shared at time of interview.
What You’ll DoAs the IT PMO Manager, you will provide project management guidance and support to program and project managers to ensure alignment with the operational goals and objectives of the Airport. The PMO Manager will also develop and enforce standards, governance and compliance of project management processes including creating reports and dashboards to convey key metrics to leadership.
Specifically, as the IT Manager you will:
  • Leads the IT Project Management Office (PMO) and establishes project management standards, processes, and methodologies.
  • Partners with senior management across the city to identify and prioritize information technology goals and objectives; develops roadmaps, strategies, business cases and defines projects to support city goals and objectives.
  • Defines and initiates program and project objectives, assigns project managers to manage cost, schedule, and performance of projects.
  • Provides strategic direction and guidance to project managers and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Ensures alignment of project portfolios with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Develops and implements project governance frameworks, including document templates, policies and procedures.
  • Identifies, assesses, and mitigates project risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Implements risk management processes and tools to proactively manage project risks.
  • Ensures optimal resource utilization and allocation across projects.
  • Defines and implements quality assurance processes and standards for IT projects.
  • Monitors project performance and ensures compliance with quality requirements.
  • Fosters a culture of innovation and inclusion within the project management team.
  • Develops and maintains project performance metrics and dashboards.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
  • Conducts hiring interviews and selects candidate(s) for job opening(s).
  • Develops goals, documents performance, provides performance feedback and formally evaluates the work of the employee; provides reward and recognition for proper and efficient performance. Assists staff to achieve performance standards and identifies opportunities for continual improvement to performance standards.
  • Documents causes for disciplinary action and initiates letters of reprimand and makes formal recommendations for disciplinary action. Responds to formal and informal employee grievances and prepares written responses.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned including the direct management of key projects and initiatives as needed.
About YouWhat You’ll BringThe ideal candidate will be familiar with best practices, methodologies and technologies involving IT project management. The candidate should have extensive experience managing IT projects and IT professionals. Experience building Power BI dashboards, Project Management Professional (PMP) and Agile or Scrum certifications are preferred.
Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Education requirement: bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of professional level information technology work.
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
