About Our Job What We Offer The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The starting salary range for this position is $24.11- $30.14. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid model. Employees work where needed, at a job site and/or in the field 3 days a week and telecommute remotely at a designated workplace within the State of Colorado the remaining days. One in three people in Denver turn to DHS for support at all stages of life. Our employees help children, older adults, families, and individuals navigate social and economic pressures by connecting them to services and experts who support their overall well-being.
The dedicated staff at Denver Human Services (DHS) are here to listen and advise, helping people apply for public assistance programs. We can provide information about food assistance and financial assistance, as well as help for veterans and those who need long term care. DHS provides a range of other services, including help with transitional housing, medical assistance, and heating costs.
Denver Human Services is seeking a dynamic Lead Eligibility Technician for the Family and Adult Assistance Division.
Specifically, as a Lead Eligibility Technician you will:
- Support Eligibility Technicians on the team in a collaborative and mentorship capacity
- Build relationships and work in teams with other Eligibility Technician Leads
- Stay updated with current rules and policies for all public assistance programs and systems (such as CBMS) under their prevue
- Take responsibility for implementing process improvements as directed by division leadership
- Assist Eligibility Technicians with processing and determinations of complex cases
- Provide Post Training and technical support for newly trained team members
- Work daily pending applications report (s) to help ensure DHS maintains 95% program timeliness

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:
- Experience with processing Cash Assistance programs Such as, Colorado Works, Adult Financial programs AND, Adult Financial, and Old Age Pension is a plus
- Proven success in working in a fast-paced environment, adhering to quick turnaround times, and executing accurate follow up and follow through
- Develop and maintain working relationships while encouraging cooperation, pride and a commitment to teamwork across various units
- Demonstrate a commitment to working with intention and sensitivity amongst a diverse demographic of coworkers and clientele
- Proficiency working with the Colorado Benefits Management System (CBMS) including troubleshooting common errors.
Required Minimum Qualifications - Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
- Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of experience determining eligibility for a variety of public assistance programs.
- Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement.
