About Our Job
The Department of Public Safety currently has an opening for a Program Administrator in our Assessment-Intake-Diversion (AID) Center. The position will oversee grant activities for the Denver Thrives program, and provide technical support to program staff, the community, and program participants. We are seeking a committed individual who is dedicated to supporting the needs of BIPOC individuals who identify as female and have experienced childhood trauma, partner violence, or substance misuse. Essential Duties:
  • Supports the development, implementation, evaluation, and execution of the Denver Thrives Program.
  • Works with the AID Center Director to develop, secure and monitor clinical service and other subcontracts related to grant objectives.
  • Ensures sub-grantees are in full compliance with applicable Federal, State, and City laws, rules, ordinances, codes, regulations, executive orders, and policies.
  • Administers program budget and grant funds, approves expenditures, and ensures grant funds are used correctly. Works with financing and accounting to ensure accurate and timely payment of expenditure invoices.
  • Ensures records of all grant-related receipts and expenditures are maintained, including a detailed accounting of the uses of grant funds.
  • Collects and records program performance and outcome metrics to ensure grant deliverables and program goals are being met. Completes and submits regular reporting to grantor, leadership, and partners, as appropriate.
  • Recommends, develops, and/or modifies program procedures, guidelines, standards, and policies to achieve program goals and objectives, and identifies changes that need to be made in program policies and procedures based on feedback from customers, service providers, and community groups.
  • Communicates with a wide range of program stakeholders, serving as a liaison to customers, community and civic partners, and business and community organizations.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience managing all aspects of projects, from beginning to end, with direct responsibility for project execution.
  • Direct service experience related to the Mental Health or Substance Misuse fields.
  • Financial and programmatic experience managing grant awards.
  • Bachelor's Degree in public health, program administration, psychology, or related field.
  • Exceptional organization and communications skills.
  • Strong conflict resolution and trouble shooting skills.
Below are the minimum requirements used to determine eligibility for this position:
  • Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Management, Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, or a related field.
  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of professional or technical level experience planning the administrative aspects of a program(s) or training program participants and/or volunteers. (Some positions may require experience in a specific program area.)
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
  • Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
  • License/Certifications: None.
