Job Summary

The IT Support Tech Intern will have the opportunity to collaborate with our team in various capacities while gaining experience that can be applied directly to future career opportunities. You will gain exposure to general IT functions and Support Specialist activities to learn and grow as a professional while also assisting the department with day-to-day tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist a team of desktop support technicians in providing computer support to all internal and external users
• Organize and maintain IT hardware and peripherals
• Assist in process documentation
• Assist in with the deployment of new equipment
• Respond to requests for technical assistance via phone or ticketing system
• Assist end-users with various hardware and software problems 
• Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues 
• Track and route problems and requests and document resolutions 
• Setup new user hardware/software 
• Maintain hardware inventory 
• Computer imaging
• Troubleshoot printers and scanners
• Provide technical assistance to users and escalate incidents to, System administrators, System engineers, or Developers when appropriate 
• Receive, troubleshoot, and respond to Help Desk requests via phone calls or e-mails in a 24/7 environment 
• Assist in moving computers and phones for all internal user moves and new hires 
• Perform additional duties as necessary

 The ideal candidate will work part-time hours during the school year and part-time or full-time hours during school breaks. Flexible work hours can be established to match your class schedule. 

Minimum Qualifications

• Current student pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, or related field.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively within a fast paced, high-volume and task-oriented role
• Self-motivated with a track record of taking initiative; strong willingness to learn in the field of IT
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
• Excellent team player while still being able to work independently
