Art Instructor City Garden is seeking an art educator to provide developmentally appropriate lessons for our amazing students in Grades 1 through 8. An understanding of child development and the ability to meet the child where they are social-emotionally, creatively, and intellectually is essential. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching art at the elementary school level and be an energetic, collaborative, and creative educator. We are seeking candidates who are outstanding, innovative teachers and are interested in growing with our unique model of education. Responsibilities
Collaborate with classroom and specialist teachers to integrate art lessons across all content areas
Manage allotted budget for art education - Source and prepare requests for art supplies - Monitor inventory
Adapt activities to students’ special needs developing appropriate modifications for I.E.P. and 504 Plans
Provide academic support and social-emotional intervention during non-teaching times
Restore classroom spaces after each lesson
Implement Antibias/ Anti-racism (ABAR) principles into lessons
Commit to ongoing personal and professional growth
Be an active member of the school community
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Visual Arts, or a relevant field
Certification with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) in the applicable subject and grade levelsAt least 2 years of experience teaching art to elementary-aged students

Compensation This position offers a salary ranging from $41,700.00 to $54,000.00 based on level of education, certifications, and years of teaching experience. Schedule
School hours: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday
Length of Work Year: August to May (10 month contract, paid over 12 months), up to 195 days per year, including but not limited to professional development, parent/teacher conferences, and preparatory work
