City Garden Montessori School (City Garden) is the only Montessori charter school in Missouri, and we are one of the highest-performing charter schools in the state. We began in 2008 with 53 students; now, we have over 600 children in preschool through eighth grade. As we grow, we continue to seek individuals to join us who share our vision for academic excellence for all children and holistic Montessori education, rooted in equity and social justice. About the Position
The Director of Admissions and Outreach (DAO) will be responsible for managing and coordinating the recruitment and admissions process at City Garden Montessori School, ensuring that prospective families receive a warm welcome and clear communication from their first interaction with the school through their child(ren)’s first day of school. The DAO will also coordinate the re-enrollment of current City Garden students annually and will play a leadership role in outreach efforts on behalf of City Garden.
The DAO will report to the CEO and will also partner with the Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) principal and staff, the Elementary and Adolescent Education Center (EAEC) principal and staff, and the network administrative team . 
What does success look like for this role?In the first year, success for the DAO looks like filling all open seats for the 2025-25 school year by June 30, 2025 and achieving a goal of 50% or more of new students being Free or Reduced Lunch Eligible. Success also looks like all new families feeling a sense of belonging and having a clear understanding of City Garden’s mission upon entering the school, as measured by survey results.
 
Responsibilities

New Students and Families
  • Direct the admission process from point of inquiry through registration for new students to the school.
  • Represent the school to prospective students and parents, which includes leading tours; handling student visits; organizing and executing Open House events;
  • Systematic and efficient handling of applications and communication of candidates and their parents/guardians; securing of necessary student documents; and communicating final decisions to the appropriate individuals.
  • Manage the admissions budget, oversee marketing and communications
  • Coordinate prospective parent/family events and support the principals in the implementation of new parent/family events.
  • Lead student recruitment activities, including but not limited to leafletting in our catchment neighborhoods, making phone calls, texts and emails to families, attending neighborhood meetings and events, etc. 
  • Manage the information and reporting on admissions numbers, student demographics, etc.
Re-enrollment and Retention
  • Prepare and follow an admission and retention plan that meets enrollment goals.
  • Manage the re-enrollment process.
  • Work with the CEO, Principals, members of the Leadership Team, and faculty to organize specific retention efforts at key grade levels.
Community Outreach
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with mission-aligned external organizations
  • Host and give tours to visitors to City Garden
  • Assist with networking, fundraising and community-building events at City Garden
  • Assist with social media and other forms of communication, to build the City Garden brand
General Duties
  • Monitor the school’s presence on the internet and social networking sites.
  • Represent the school at various conferences and gatherings.
  • Give tours of City Garden to prospective families and outside groups.
  • Set realistic and meaningful annual goals and successfully accomplish them.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the CEO.
  • Be respectful of community agreements such as being prompt at meetings and fulfilling responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 3 – 5 years of overall professional experience; ideally 3 in admissions management and community outreach
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including interpreting data, writing reports, and presenting to audiences of various sizes
  • Ability to learn new technologies that impact the admissions process such as Infinite Campus, Cognito forms, etc.
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Strong administrative skills, including proficiency in Google sheets, Google docs and Google slides
  • Experience working with diverse populations, with direct knowledge of and commitment to anti-bias and antiracism practices
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with individuals of all backgrounds
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness and good judgment
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining vigilant attention to details
  • Flexibility in schedule, coupled with exceptional time-management skills
CompensationThis position offers a salary ranging from $45,000.00 to $55,000.00 based on level of education and years of relevant experience.
