Job Summary:

City Heights CDC is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Maintenance Services Technicians for the City Heights Maintenance Assessment District. This role is critical in ensuring the comprehensive maintenance along the corridor and upkeep of projects. The Maintenance Services Technicians will work as part of the City Heights CDC team to implement and maintain a high standard of cleanliness within the City Heights Maintenance Assessment District.

Responsibilities:

• Work in partnership with City Heights CDC to develop and execute a maintenance strategy tailored to the City Heights Maintenance Assessment District.
• Communicate regularly with City Heights CDC representatives to report on maintenance activities, issues, and improvements.
• Perform regular sweeping and steam cleaning of sidewalks to maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Remove debris, litter, and any hazardous materials from pedestrian pathways.
• Conduct routine landscaping, including mowing, trimming, and pruning of plants and trees.
• Implement effective weed abatement strategies to ensure a neat and tidy appearance.
• Clean and sanitize bus stop areas, including seating and shelter structures.

• Ensure bus stops are free from litter and graffiti, providing a pleasant environment for the community.
• Support monthly community clean-ups for the City Heights Maintenance Assessment District.
• Coordinate and manage special maintenance projects as required by City Heights CDC.
• Provide solutions and execute tasks for any ad-hoc maintenance needs within the project area.

• Proven experience in maintenance services, landscaping, or related fields.
• Ability to operate and maintain cleaning and landscaping equipment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness and maintenance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on urban redevelopment or community development projects.
• Knowledge of sustainable landscaping practices and environmentally friendly maintenance techniques.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Hours and Compensation 

40 hours per week, non-exempt

Starting hourly wage: $23-$28/hr depending on experience.
