PURPOSE:
Functions as part of a therapeutic team providing support in a rehabilitative program to individuals residing in a Transitional Living Program and/or Emergency Youth Shelter Program. Assist with maintaining a therapeutic environment that promotes fairness, safety, and hope. . Provides guidance and direction to individuals to aid in successfully achieving their goals; to teach/model/coach and support individuals toward the attainment of being safe and assisting them in meeting their basic physiological, safety, and love and belonging needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS-JOB DUTIES:
The Residential Advisor position is a member of the program staff who will work within the team to provide continued guidance, support, and programming to the residents.

The Resident Advisor will work daily with the residents will participate in activities through the physical location.

The Resident Advisor will participate in training and development as required by licensing standards and program requirements.

The Resident Advisor will ensure the care and well-being of each youth at the components of the Adolescent Programs., daily evaluate staff interactions with youth, mentoring, encouraging, and correcting staff so that a positive environment is maintained.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
CPR/1st Aid Certification (company will provide training)
Ability to comprehend and follow rules/guidelines;
Ability to enforce program specific rules
40 hours mandated by OCYF
WORKING CONDITIONS: Position involves possible exposure in the following harmful elements.
Element:Degree of Exposure (Occasional, Frequent, Continuous)
Blood/body fluids: Occasional
MISCELLANEOUS:Each member of the Organization’s workforce may only access the minimum information that is necessary to perform that workforce member’s particular job functions. Due to the nature of the Organization’s Shelter and Independent Living Programs, workforce members will have access to all resident charts in the program where they are employed. Supervisors will have access to all records in the CRR programs for on-call purposes only.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This also includes snow removal and helping residents move.
