City Museum is Hiring an Inside Group Sales Representative Near St Louis, MO

Our expansive space features a combination of art installations, historical artifacts, and interactive exhibits that captivate visitors of all ages. In addition to being a top tourist destination, we also offer a range of products for groups to purchase at a bulk rate including admission and food.
Job Description: City Museum is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated sales representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sales and implementation of sales programs for groups of fifteen people or more, special events, and hotel partnerships. This position is an inside sales position and requires significant time fielding inbound sales inquiries via email and phone. As a sales representative, you will play a crucial role in promoting the City Museum experience as an exceptional venue for groups and local hotels.
Key Responsibilities:Group Sales:
  • Meet and exceed individual and department sales quotas through established sales guidelines, procedures, and event planning and execution
  • Assist group leaders with placing ticket orders through the website or through the City Museum ticket office from start to finish
  • Sell lunch buffets as add-ons to groups’ visits
  • Coordinate ticket orders with the ticket office, deposit payments into the in-house Group Sales system, communicate visit day details with the group leader
  • Communicate with City Museum staff about upcoming group visits with detail about arrival time, meal time, and departure time
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to group leaders throughout the booking process.
Group Special Events:
  • Create special events that have a group sales component such as Girl Scout days, educational days, etc.
  • Special events are driven by an identified audience that is likely to purchase as a group vs. as individuals
  • Communicate special event details with City Museum staff
Hotel Partnerships:
  • Continue to build the City Museum hotel partnership program
  • Partnerships include discounted tickets for the hotels to sell to their guests
  • Manage hotel relationships and marketing opportunities with City Museum
Market Research and Analysis:
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging opportunities.
  • Use market research to refine and improve sales strategies.
  • Submit required sales and revenue reports to director of sales and marketing by defined deadlines
Qualifications:
  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the St. Louis business and events market is a plus.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays when required.
  • A passion for City Museum and an understanding of its offerings.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift, carry, move, and/or position items weighing up to or in excess of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb stairs
Hours and Schedule:
  • This is an exempt position and may often require more than 40 hours per week to complete the workload. While flex time will be approved, it should be used only when workload permits.
  • This role will need to be flexible and able to work a non-traditional schedule. Hours will be Monday through Friday from 9am – 5pm. Hours can be flexed to accommodate hours worked on weekends or evenings and should be planned two weeks in advance.
