Essential FunctionsThis information is intended to be descriptive of the key responsibilities of the position. The following examples do not identify all duties performed by any single incumbent.
- Conducts personal training sessions for members and guests by performing fitness assessments, supervising exercise areas, ensuring the safety of the fitness environment, creating personalized exercise/fitness programs for members, providing personal coaching, and assisting patrons with their exercise and fitness program.
- Provides fitness center and equipment maintenance by sanitizing fitness machines after use, completing preventative maintenance on fitness machines, returning free weights and equipment to the designated areas, and retrieving debris from fitness areas.
- Provides customer service to members by responding to member inquiries, answering fitness-related questions, demonstrating proper fitness equipment and exercise techniques, and monitoring fitness areas to guard against emergencies.
- Provides administrative assistance by answering the telephone, directing incoming callers, documenting phone messages, coordinating member schedules with fitness staff for initial visit, and scheduling personal training appointments.
- Ensures the success of the recreation facility by meeting monthly revenue goals and providing customer service.
- Assist the City of Allen community with events, programs, and other areas as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent plus three (3) years of relevant work experience
- Valid Class C Drivers License
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Personal Training Certification, preferably from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), American Council on Exercise (ACE), or National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
