Under general supervision, performs work of average difficulty involving technical office and field work checking development plans for conformance with City standards; preparing and checking final maps, legal descriptions, plans and specifications utilizing computer aided drafting format and performing research of record information in the Public Works Department. Performs other work as required.
This class is distinguished from the Engineering Aide and Computer Drafting Technician series in that it requires less supervision and direction. This class works independently and is assigned projects such as: preparing annexation plats, plan checking, writing legal descriptions, etc. in addition to computer aided drafting. Work is carried out under the general direction of senior engineers in the department and is reviewed by inspection of results.
