What You'll Do :

  • Answer Emergency Calls : Handle 9-1-1 calls and radio communications for both Police and Fire departments with precision and care.
  • Coordinate Responses : Collect and evaluate information to determine jurisdiction, equipment, and personnel to dispatch;

provide critical information and support.

  • Utilize Technology : Use a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system to manage Calls For Services (CFS) and public inquiries.
  • Provide support : Offer calm reassurance to callers in distress.

  • Quick Thinker : Make fast, accurate decisions in emergency scenarios.
  • Open Availability : Must be willing to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary to have operations 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.

Requirements :

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure & maintain composure in high-stress situations.
  • A High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One (1) year of experience of working with the public.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS : The starting hourly wage is $20.45 per hour and will increase to $21.27 per hour after 6 months of successful probation.

WORK LOCATION : City of Branson, Missouri; City Hall. This is an in office position requiring work to be performed onsite.

MISCELLANEOUS ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to attend occasional required off-site training.
  • Must meet City of Branson Employee Appearance at Work policy.
  • Must be highly engaged in the department's goals and be able to work cooperatively with Police Department leadership in achieving those goals.
  • Must possess a high degree of integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug and alcohol screenings.
