Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator
The City of Charleston is accepting applications for a full time Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator. Position will assist with maintenance, basic duties, and lab work at the WWTP.
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and must possess a valid driver’s license. High school diploma or equivalent required. Within 1 year of hire, candidate must write for the Class 4 Waste Water Exam and within 18 months of hire obtain at least the Class 4 Waste Water Treatment Certificate.
Starting wage is $19.7942/hour plus benefits. The successful candidate must reside within 20 miles of Charleston City Hall within 6 months of hire. Preference will be given to candidates who have successfully obtained a Bachelor’s Degree and/or an Operator’s Certificate. Candidates with previous experience or that currently hold Illinois Wastewater certification will also be given preference.
