City of Concord is Hiring a Water Crew Supervisor - Wastewater Near Concord, NC
The purpose of this position is to supervise crews and the projects or actions related to the City’s sewer systems. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Supervises staff by prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring staff are trained and follow policies and procedures, maintaining a healthy and safe working environment, and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
Oversees the installation and repairs of sewer pipe and appurtenances.
Determines the means to clean debris from pipes and manholes.
Ensures all equipment is being properly maintenance by staff and all safety procedures are followed.
Ensures proper functions of City’s collection system by responding to any issues.
Prepares and/or completes work orders and service requests.
Supplemental Functions
Performs other similar duties as required.

Water Treatment Facility principles and practices
Licensing And Certifications
Valid North Carolina Commercial Driver’s License
Preferred Licensing And Certifications
North Carolina Grade III Wastewater Certification
CPR and First Aid Certification

Positions in this class require: Standing, fine dexterity, walking, lifting, carrying, sitting, reaching, handling, kneeling, crawling, pushing/pulling, climbing, vision, foot controls, balancing, bending, crouching, hearing, twisting, talking.
Heavy Work: Exerting 50 - 100 pounds occasionally, 25 -50 pounds frequently, or from 10 up to 20 pounds constantly.
Incumbents may be subjected to extreme temperature, wetness and/or humidity, respiratory fumes, noise and vibration, physical hazards.

Required ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalency, with at least five (5) years of relevant experience in Water Resources or Storm Water drainage and demonstrated leadership experience in the form of Supervisor, Team Lead or Crew Leader; or the City may consider an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
