Introduction ResponsibilitiesThe Division Manager reports administratively to the Director of Water but may receive instructions, directions and/or work assignments from the City Manager. The incumbent is responsible for the supervision of the Environmental Compliance Coordinator, Environmental Investigator and Environmental Inspectors, in addition to the day-to-day activities in the Environmental Protection Division. Develops and administers budget planning, strategic long-range plans, short-range plans for annual objectives, and personnel professional development. The position provides for a constant monitoring of City functions for environmental safety with emphasis on ensuring that the City water supply is protected from present and future environmental hazards. The incumbent is responsible for specific activities to protect the City's water supply such as: ensuring that environmental programs are on target; assessing development from an environmental perspective; acting as a liaison with environmental agencies and boards; enforcing the environmental protection plans and developing a viable communication network to disseminate information and solve environmental-related problems. Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related discipline WITH 3 years of experience in an environmental protection or health-related field AND one year of management. License Requirements Must possess a valid driver’s license at time of appointment and maintain thereafter as a term and condition of continued employment.
