City of Fitchburg (WI) is Hiring a General Foreman - Streets (Open Positions: 1) Near Fitchburg, MA

General Foreman shall assume all duties of the Working Foreman and shall assist the Superintendent of Streets in his/her absence by assigning work to crews and monitoring progress of each assignment; assist and provide relief to Superintendent of Streets during snow storms, by monitoring progress and quality of plowing, sanding and salting operations by DPW and private contractors. Work as a leader of a crew of employees of lower grade classifications. Schedule work assignments, enforce safety regulations, maintain discipline, order supplies and equipment, and inspect work of assigned crew progress and completion for compliance with instructions and conformance with accepted standards and practices. In all cases, the incumbent shall perform the same skilled craft duties as his/her crew. Position requires extensive overtime during winter months.
