CITY OF FOLEY EMPLOYMENT NOTICE

PART-TIME LIBRARY ASSISTANT/BUILDING CUSTODIAN

The City of Foley is one of the most progressive and rapidly growing cities in Alabama. We offer growth opportunities and a chance to make a difference in our community. We are accepting applications for the position of Part-time Library Assistant/Building Custodian in the Foley Public Library.

Starting salary is $14.08 an hour with paid holidays, vacation, sick leave and annual merit raises. A successful applicant must have a valid driver’s license and pass a full driving and background check, drug screen and physical. The position will be required to work the following schedule:

Monday – Thursday 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Saturdays 8:00 am -5:00 pm

Examples of Work:

• Assists patrons in selecting and locating materials
• Conducts book searches using a computer
• Explains the use of library and services
• Assists with custodial care of the library including floors, break areas, and employee/public restrooms
• Assists with set up and breaks down for events/city functions as needed
• Picks up trash and recycling from inside and outside of the library

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Diploma or its equivalent and (1) year of experience in a job related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

• Valid Class D driver’s license.

Physical Demands:

• Medium work which requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
