Recreation Program Assistant
Part-time Regular
Starting Hourly Range: $20.12 - $25.65
Under general supervision, this position plans, develops and conducts a variety of public programs and activities of the Recreation Division. Programs include, but not limited to, out of school camps, athletics, fitness, mobile recreation, senior and teen programs. As part of the programming team, other areas the position may assist with include special interest programs for children and adults, special events, seasonal pool operations, outdoor recreation programs, seasonal boating/marina operation, and seasonal park operations. Position reports to the Superintendent of Recreation. Creates, schedules, and conducts athletic, fitness, senior, teen, out of school camps and mobile recreation programs along with the Superintendent of Recreation. Meets with Superintendent of Recreation on a regular basis to review program planning and schedule coordination. As needed, this position requires working evening and weekend hours for associated programs and events.
Minimum requirements for successful applicant will include: Bachelor’s degree of accredited college or university in Parks and Recreation, Sports Management or related field and/or 2 years’ experience in parks, recreation, physical education or related fields. Background and driving record checks required.
