Performs manual labor supporting Recreation Division Staff in maintaining park grounds and recreation facilities. Duties may include grounds maintenance/field dragging, cleaning/preparing park facilities (restrooms, trash, event set-ups, etc.), and assisting with other recreation programs or projects.

Must be properly dressed and groomed to meet the public while working in parks.

Works flexible schedule depending on activities scheduled (weeknights and weekends).

Grounds Maintenance includes dragging and preparing athletic fields for programs.

Cleans restrooms including scrubbing and cleaning urinals, toilets, mopping the floor, emptying the trash, wiping the mirrors, and cleaning the sinks. Notifies supervisor of any stock that is low; receives and re-stocks restrooms and stores supplies.

Supports recreation staff in preparations for agency special events (transport tables and chairs, lines and sets up ball fields, etc.). May assist with social events and other recreational activities.

Ability to deal effectively with patrons, associates and the general public.

Must be observant of visitors and give assistance to any who need direction.

Performs other related duties as required.

HOURS:

Working hours are flexible to include evenings and weekends.

Education and Experience:

None

Licenses and Certifications:

Class C Driver’s License and satisfactory MVR.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to read and write

Knowledge of cleaning and grounds keeping

Ability to exercise care in the use of cleaning material

Ability to understand and follow instructions

Ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner

Knowledge of overall functions of facility

Ability to perform some lifting and routine maintenance
