The Economic Development Department offers numerous resources such as the Small Business Guide, the Locals Guide, and information on Targeted Industries.The Role: As the Economic Development Redevelopment Specialist you will provide professional level assistance to the Economic Development department in the creation of economic development marketing strategies, research and implementation of programs to promote redevelopment.Salary : Effective July 1, 2024...This position is a grade 408, and is FLSA Exempt The salary for this role is $69,576 - $104,364 annuallyBenefits: The City of Glendale offers a generous benefits package with competitive rates that become effective the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment. Holiday, Vacation, and Sick Leave: Regular status positions offer: The City of Glendale observes 10.5 holidays per year, and full-time employees are also granted an additional 12 hours of holiday special leave per calendar year to celebrate their cultural or religious holidays.Vacation leave accrues at 5.33 hours per pay period (138 hours/17.25* days per year), and increases to 6.12 hours after 5 years, and to 7.6 hours after 10 years of service.Sick leave accrues at 4.4 hours per pay period (114 hours/14.25 days* per year).* Days per year estimates are based on an 8-hour work day. Retirement: This position participates in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).Contribution is mandatory, and the current contribution rate is 12.27%.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Researches and compiles demographic and economic data in response to prospective client inquiries.Develops strategic marketing materials for programs.Participates in the long-range planning, development of marketing strategies, and recommendation of goals for city redevelopment efforts.Coordinates efforts and information with various City departments to identify, attract, retain, and assist business and industry focused on redevelopment.Manages design review process with other city departments.Evaluates programs which couple immediately available resources of the area with potential business development and redevelopment.Coordinates with various businesses, agencies, community organizations, and City departments to conduct presentations and site tours for the purpose of promoting Glendale.Develops and maintains relationships with merchants, landowners, residents, developers, regional stakeholders and utility partners to facilitate redevelopment and business attraction.Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.Makes presentations to businesses seeking to relocate or expand in the city.Prepares comprehensive technical and administrative reports and studies.Tracks budget and expenditures for programs and events.Provides quality customer service.Performs other related duties as assigned.
