Technical responsibility for providing skilled maintenance and repair of motorized vehicles and equipment. Work responsibilities extend to performing field repairs and repairing and maintaining emergency vehicles and equipment. Work is performed under the general direction of the Vehicle Maintenance Superintendent or Vehicle Maintenance Manager who schedule and direct daily work flow for each department or division’s repair needs.
NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of a valid Class B Montana Commercial Driver’s License with air brake endorsement.
ASE Certification

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, climb, kneel, reach, push, pull, grasp, pick, pinch, ride and perform similar body movements. Must have the ability to perform heavy physical work and to lift and carry up to 100 pounds at a time; the possession of hand/eye coordination sufficient to operate various hand and power tools and a motor vehicle; the ability to talkand hear in person or by telephone and two-way radio; and the ability to see and read instructions and reports.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
The work schedule is a 40-hour work week, Sunday through Saturday. Work is typically performed Monday through Friday. This position is a non-exempt and eligible for overtime. Overtime may be required if deemed an emergency by city management. Any overtime must be authorized prior to working. Employees need to be at their designated work area dressed and ready to work at 8:00 am unless special instructions are provided.
TRAVEL
Travel is primarily local during the business day. Occasional travel may be required to attend off-site training and educational opportunities.
