City of Greeley is Hiring a Studio Intern II - Communication and Engagement Near Greeley, CO

Anticipated Hiring Range: $18.40 - $20.70 hourly

Job Summary:

The City of Greeley’s internship program provides hands-on experience for students exploring career opportunities in government service and related fields. Communication & Engagement currently has one seasonal internship position to assist with video and photography tasks. As an intern, you will report directly to the Deputy Administration & Operations Director for Communication & Engagement for the City of Greeley.

The position is a temporary position. The work schedule consists of Monday through Friday with flexible hours between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.  

Experience, Knowledge, Skills:

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver’s license, with two (2) years of driving experience and a clear driving record in order to drive for the City.
  • Associate’s degree or completion of two years of college in Media Production or a communication-related field including but not limited to: Video Production, Film Production, Digital Media Production, or Photography,
  • OR at least three years of part-time work-related experience or 1 ½ years of full-time work-related experience.

OR

  • A combination of related education, on-the-job work experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job may be considered by the hiring authority.

  • Computer skills, including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and learn and experiment with new software and systems.
  • Interpersonal skills, including the ability to facilitate interaction, communication, and teamwork between others.
  • Oral, written, and listening communication skills, including the ability to accurately interpret what others are saying and convey messages, information, concepts, and details accurately and clearly.

Essential Functions:

  • Videography and Production Assistance for Shoots: Operate professional video cameras and related equipment. Provide support for video productions including video shoots and miscellaneous projects, including audio, lighting, and grip.
  • Production Studio Support: Assist with setup, operation, and execution of the broadcast studio and radio/podcast studio.
  • Video Editing: Using Adobe Premiere Pro to edit a variety of content including, but not limited to, in-house video requests and broadcast programming.
  • Digital Asset Management: Uploading assets and creating collections in the Bynder platform.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Work Environment: 

  • Time will be spent partially in an office with occasional field work in variable weather conditions necessary.

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity to operate a personal computer and related equipment. 
  • Hearing and speech enough to communicate with the public, as well as staff and appointed and elected officials, etc.
  • Mobility enough to access sites in urban, rural, or rough terrain such as farm/fields/ditch banks.

Travel:

  • May be required to travel up to 50% of the time.
