Compensation and Benefits:
The Full Salary Range for this position is $41,331.00 - $63,229.00 Annually. The Hiring Range is $41,331.00 - $46,492.00 Annually depending on qualifications, with an excellent benefits package. You can learn more about the benefits that the City of Greensboro offers by visiting
Work Schedule:
Monday - Thursday 7:30am - 5:00pm & Friday 7:30am - 11:30am
Primary Duties/Brief Description of Work:
The Lead Maintenance Tech (Electrical) is a higher level and skilled position than an entry level position; the successful applicant will have higher skill sets, more responsibility, work independently and demonstrate the ability to lead others. This position will be supervised by the Electrician, maintenance mechanics and/or supervisor. This employee will coordinate and perform the electrical work that is associated with installation, construction, troubleshooting, repairs, renovations and maintenance of facilities. The job requires good knowledge of the electrical field, to include experience and knowledge of the installation of new electrical systems and should have working knowledge and experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing Card Access and CCTV computer systems and software. This employee should possess the ability to troubleshoot and repair existing old and new electrical equipment and have the knowledge and ability to operate electrical hand and power tools, network interface equipment, and a computer. This employee should understand and comply with applicable local, State and National electrical codes as well as Occupational Safety and Health Administration policies and procedures. This individual must have the ability to operate a computer for their work orders and be able to follow written and verbal instructions. The physical duties of the job include bending, stooping, standing, walking, kneeling, climbing ladders, pushing, pulling, reaching and lifting up to 50 lbs. The employee must maintain a reliable means of contact (i.e. home or cellular phone). The job is NON-EXEMPT under FLSA.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED with 4 to 6 years of electrical experience (MUST indicate electrical, Card Access & Closed Circuit TV experience on application)
    • OR No High School Diploma/GED with 8-10 years of electrical experience (MUST indicate electrical, Card Access & Closed Circuit TV experience on application)
    • OR Associate's Degree with 1-4 years of electrical experience (MUST indicate electrical, Card Access & Closed Circuit TV experience on application)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Knowledge of other work disciplines; Plumbing, Carpentry, or HVAC
    • Previous work experience in a large commercial organization/building environment
    • Knowledge of computer software, iPads, and/or general office equipment
