Leagues are played at Dawson Field from May through August, Sunday Evenings (Men’s), Monday Evenings (Church), Friday Evenings (Co-Ed) RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to: Recreation Supervisor Works with seasonal employees regularly and communicates with other Recreation Division staff, customers and the general public.Each game officiated will equal 1 hour of pay, up to 2 - 4 games a night. $33.00/game (w/o WIAA certification)$38.00/game (w/ WIAA certification)
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Umpires assigned games.Familiarizes self with league rules, ASA rules and any other sanctioned rules the Recreation Division deems appropriate to follow for league play.Enforces the rules and regulations of the game fairly and consistently.Understands and enforces the player code of conduct.Maintains order on the field and ejects players when necessary.Monitors game playing to ensure the game is played within the time limits.Operates the scoreboard and inputs strikes, balls, inning, and runs by means of handheld controller. Maintains an active dialogue with teams throughout game play as needed.Reports any game night issues to Supervisor on Duty.OTHER DUTIES: Assists Supervisor with removing bases as needed.

EQUIPMENT, INSTRUMENTS AND MACHINES: Handheld scoreboard controller PHYSICAL FACTORS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by any an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work will take place in an outdoor environment and varying types of weather, including possibility of high heat and humidity.Working conditions involve occasional exposure to dirt, dust, and moisture.Perform clean-up duties, which may include, but not limited to: Semi-reaching to full-reach overhead, crouching, kneeling, bending, twisting, turning, and lying on stomach and/or back.
