What you will be doing :
Your responsibilities will include p roviding administrative support for the Building and Planning divisions of the Planning & Development Services Department and assisting other staff as directed.
Responsible for providing administrative support to various City boards and Commissions that are supported by the Department including attendance at evening meetings.
Preparing meeting agendas and notices for proper posting. Processing and prepare application materials for meetings. Copying and distributing meeting packets.
Preparing meeting rooms. Attending evening meetings and preparing meeting minutes. Uploading meeting information to the City's website.
Assisting in communicating with board / commission members and other staff as directed.

Excellent organizational and secretarial skills, utilizing personal computers, including word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
Ability to learn and use a variety of computer applications.
Ability to communicate effectively with others individually as well as in small and large groups.
Ability to organize and plan work to meet deadlines within a part-time schedule.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with colleagues, staff in other departments, and members of the public.
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information.
Ability to read and understand legislation and regulations.
Knowledge of construction practices, building permit processing, and code enforcement procedures.
Where and when you'll be working :
In a lovely suburb of St. Louis, surrounded by lots of restaurants and great parks. Most of this work will be performed in an office setting.
Individual is anticipated to work an average of ten to fifteen (10-15) hours per week including mandatory attendance at multiple (up to five) evening meetings per month.
Some o utdoor work is r equired in the inspection of various land use developments and construction sites. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 10 pounds.
Vision abilities required to use close and distance vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
