Summary:
This position provides front line customer service for City of Lawrence Utility accounts and Solid Waste operations. This position assists with clerical work and maintains confidential records in support of billing City of Lawrence Utility accounts. This is a fast-paced office environment with high call volume.
Qualifications:
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade required. Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration preferred.
This position requires previous customer service and computer experience; previous billing or accounting experience, with strong working knowledge of MS Office to include Outlook, Word, Excel is preferred. Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills, strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, trustworthiness, and ability to keep up with the face-paced setting are critical in this role. The ideal candidate is extremely reliable, self-motivated, a team player, and enjoys solving problems. The Applicants selected for an interview will be required to pass a 40WPM-typing test.
