Job Description

Assists in the planning, organization and execution of all phases of park facility maintenance and construction.

• Plans and Oversees park maintenance and construction projects
• Oversees and Performs carpentry, electrical, plumbing and masonry work needed throughout the park system
• Oversees and Performs ground maintenance activities including landscaping and application of herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers
• Oversees and Performs routine maintenance and inspections to park equipment
• Assists in preparation, administration and monitoring of department budget, goals and objectives
• Coordinates the requisitioning, inventory and delivery of parts and supplies
• Inspects playground equipment and completed construction projects to assure compliance
• Trains employees in facility maintenance and safety procedures
• Investigates and resolves problems that arise through personnel management and acts on requests, suggestions or complaints
• Supervision of personnel to include interviewing, hiring, evaluating and disciplinary action
• Performs related work as required.

• Directly and Indirectly supervises full time employees

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in park operations/maintenance or related field required.

• TDA Pest Control Non-commercial Applicator License or be able to obtain within first year of employment
• CPSO license or be able to obtain within first year of employment
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• Any combination of education, training, and experience, which provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities needed for this position, may be substituted or evaluated at the discretion of the City.
