City of Lincoln Lancaster County is Hiring a Public Health Educator II - Injury Prevention Near Lincoln, NE
Hours: Work to be performed within regular office hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., with occasional evenings and weekends. The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department is seeking a part-time (30 hours/week) position to be part of the Department’s Injury Prevention Program. This position will have primary responsibility for guiding efforts of the Safe Kids Lincoln-Lancaster County coalition task forces including program planning, member recruitment, fund development, and community presentations and trainings. The position requires certification as a Child Passenger Safety Technician (will have six months to obtain certification). Experience in coordinating programs, leading community groups/coalitions, working with the media, and working with health-related projects is preferred. This position is expected to exercise independent judgment and personal initiative in all aspects of the job. Candidate must be able to lift and carry large boxes up to 30 poundsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in public health education, public administration or related field with two years of experience in public health education; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Possession of a valid driver's license when operating a vehicle is necessary for the satisfactory performance of assigned duties.
