Description:
Performs skilled and semi-skilled work in the repair, maintenance, and construction of electrical, mechanical and SCADA systems for the production and storage of water and conveyance of wastewater.
Services and maintains water and wastewater equipment and facilities. Repairs and troubleshoots water and wastewater equipment, electrical systems, and mechanical systems. Constructs, designs improvements for, and upgrades electrical and mechanical systems such as emergency standby generators for sewer lift stations and chlorinator systems. Serves as a City electrician in the repair, consultation, and construction of all City electrical problems. Monitors and calibrates equipment for accuracy and record keeping of flow rates, water levels, water pressures, power consumption, equipment status, alarms, and communications. Inspects and tests equipment, facilities, and work completed to ensure correct operation and control. Responds to equipment failure emergencies from SCADA generated alarms and Logan System Operations Control Center. Responds to other emergencies as they arise. Operates equipment such as backhoes and front-end loaders. Uses a variety of hand tools, power tools, and electrical diagnostic equipment. Maintains detailed records related to particular areas of assignment. Checks pumping stations on a regular basis, maintains and repairs pumps and motors, replaces bearings, valves, and related components. Reads and interprets electrical schematics. Programs and troubleshoots SCADA network, including but not limited to programming PLCs, testing fiber optic networks, programming networking switches, programming surveillance cameras, managing asset management software, etc.

Qualifications:
High School GED or equivalent AND experience equivalent to two (2) years full-time maintenance, construction, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and SCADA systems. Experience is preferred but not required in the area of production and storage of water and conveyance of wastewater. Must possess or be able to obtain Water Distribution IV and Wastewater Collections IV Certificates from the State of Utah. Must possess a Journeyman's Electrician License from the State of Utah.
