The Maryland Heights Parks and Recreation Department has an immediate opening for a Preschool Leader. This position works directly with preschool age children and assists in the planning, organizing, and implementing of preschool programming.
Preschool Leaders work a maximum of 29 hours per week Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm with a flexible schedule. The starting pay range for this position is $16.75 per hour.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

• Work as part of a team of employees to plan, organize and implement preschool programming. Provide a quality of teaching that complies with the standards of the Maryland Heights Parks and Recreation Department.
• Ensure equipment of the facility is clean, well-maintained and safe at all times.
• Receive and dismiss children from parents using the approved security policies.
• Engage children in creative play, songs, and stories and otherwise provide a happy experience.
• Learn emergency procedures associated with preschool and facility.
• Attend all staff meetings and trainings as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent with prior childcare experience. CPR/AED certification preferred. Attention to detail and strong organizational and problem solving skills are also required.
Ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills when interacting with parents and children.
Ability to remain professional in all customer interactions.
Ability to bend, stoop, squat, reach, lift and carry up to 50 pounds
